Born and raised in the vibrant city of Denver, I, Johnnie W Johnson, am proud to represent the diverse values of our community. Coming from a family of eight, I learned the importance of hard work, responsibility, and perseverance from an early age.
My journey has been marked by challenges, starting with the loss of my sight due to a medical error at a young age. Despite this setback, I refused to let it define me. With unwavering determination and the support of my family, I embraced life with a can-do attitude.
In my youth, I discovered a passion for music and broadcasting. From recording my voice on a Talking Book Library recorder to DJing at family gatherings, I found solace and joy in the world of sound. This passion led me to pursue a career in broadcasting, where I honed my skills and eventually created my own TV shows, "Innervision" and "Talk Ability," showcasing the stories and perspectives of disabled individuals.
My dedication to empowering the disabled community didn't stop there. Together with my friend Wayne, I established a recording studio, produced a groundbreaking film featuring disabled actors, and founded the nonprofit organization "Innervision." Through these endeavors, we have uplifted countless talented individuals and highlighted the importance of inclusivity and representation in media and the arts.
As a proud Christian, constitutional conservative, and advocate for life, I am deeply troubled by the erosion of our fundamental values. I believe in upholding the sanctity of life from conception to natural death and vehemently oppose policies that undermine the dignity of human life. My commitment to protecting the unborn led me to support organizations like Save The Stork, which provides alternatives to abortion and promotes adoption as a loving choice.
Furthermore, I am deeply concerned about the direction our country is heading in terms of fiscal responsibility, immigration, and education. As a candidate for Denver House District 5, I am committed to fighting for lower taxes, sensible immigration policies, and educational reforms that empower parents and prioritize student success.
I firmly believe that government should serve the people, not the other way around. That's why I'm dedicated to making Denver a better place for all its residents. From promoting transparency and accountability in our public schools to supporting initiatives that uplift our communities, I am ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work.
But I can't do it alone. I need your support to make Denver great again. Whether you're in your 40s, 30s, or 20s, whether you're Black, White, Hispanic, or of any other background, I want to hear from you. Together, we can build a brighter future for our city and our children.
Join me in this important journey, and together, let's make a difference in Denver House District 5.
Sincerely,
Johnnie W Johnson
